Kazakhstani Tourism Association has suggested extending visa free entrance for 10 countries till October 2015, Tengrinews reports citing the Director of the Association Rashida Shaikenova.
The visa free entrance was introduced in Kazakhstan for the period of July 15, 2014 to July 15, 2015.
“The decision to introduce visa free entrance for citizens of 10 countries, has had a positive effect. The number of tourists from these countries has increased by 13-14%. This pilot project shows that there is a demand. We are currently analyzing (the results of the project) for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to suggest extending the dates of the visa free regime, possibly till October. The reason being, the tourist season does not end in July. On the contrary, there is a continuous flow of tourists in August and September,” Shaikenova said.
Citizens of the USA, Netherlands, the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Malaysia, the UAE, South Korea and Japan can enter Kazakhstan for an up to 15 day's stay without needing to get a visa.
Depending on the results of the pilot project, the visa free entrance will be, according to the First Deputy Foreign Minister Rapil Zhoshybayev, either extended or terminated.
“First of all, countries that create favorable condition for Kazakhstani visitors will be considered for the visa free entrance to Kazakhstan,” Zhoshybayev said.
