Kazakhstan citizens can now obtain 5-year U.S. visas, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the press-service of Kazakhstan Foreign Ministry. Kazakhstan and the U.S. exchanged notes on this agreement during Kazakhstan Foreign Minister Yerlan Idrissov’s visit to Washington on July 9. Americans will also be able to obtain 5-year Kazakhstan visas starting from August 1, 2013. This regulation applies to diplomatic, business, official, tourist, private and student visas. Earlier the maximum visa expiry period was one year. “The agreement is aimed at development of Kazakhstan-American strategic partnership, enhancement of the trade and economic, scientific-technical, cultural-humanitarian, tourist and other relations between the two countries, as well as at simplification of traveling conditions for citizens of both countries,” the press-service writes.
