Kazakhstan entered the International Association of Judges, Tengrinews.kz reports. “Voting of the International Association of Judges has just finished in Istanbul, Turkey. You know that the Association includes 77 national judges associations that are divided into four regional groups. So the voting has just finished and Kazakhstan Judges Union has become a fully legitimate member of the International Association of Judges. We have been trying to reach this for many years and we have finally done it. We have won today, we have won over some curve and not quite objective approaches to evaluation of the judicial system’s activities. The world has acknowledged Kazakhstan’s judicial system as successful,” chairman of Kazakhstan Supreme Court said at the meeting with veterans of judicial system today, September 8. The International Association of Judges is an international non-political organization that was founded in Salzburg, Austria, in 1953. The main objective of the Association is to safeguard the independence of the judiciary, as an essential requirement of the judicial function and guarantee of human rights and freedom.
