Lama Sharif appointed head of religious affairs in Kazakhstan

Kairat Lama Sharif appointed head of religious issues in Kazakhstan, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Karim Massimov's Twitter. “Signed a decree on appointing Lama Sharif Kairat Kayirbekuly as Chairman of Kazakhstan Agency for Religious Affairs,” Prime-Minister tweeted on June 7. In the last few years Kairat Lama Sharif worked as Kazakhstan Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. He speaks Arabic and is an author of several religious books. Kazakhstan Agency on Religious Issues was established on May 21, 2011.
