Pakistan makes its seaports available to Kazakhstan

Pakistan is ready to make its seaports available to Kazakhstan for trade operations, Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani of Pakistan said during his talks with Prime Minister Karim Massimov of Kazakhstan September 7, Novosti Kazakhstan reports. “Pakistan will be glad to make its seaports available to Kazakhstan for trade operations. The sides could work on details in the nearest future”, he said. PM Gillani emphasized that “the time has come to give a strong impetus to the bilateral cooperation of the two nations”. According to him, the two nations “could unleash their potential to maintain peace for the peoples of the region”. “Stability and peace in the region are contact points for Kazakhstan and Pakistan (…) the two nations could work together towards stability and peace in Afghanistan”, he said. The sides signed an agreement of cooperation between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kazakhstan and Pakistan’s Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry. For January – June trade turnover between the two nations exceeded $19.9 million, 30% up against the like period of 2010.
