Kazakhstan announces education and healthcare budgets for 2012-2014

In 2012-2014 Kazakhstan plans to allocate $7.75 billion on education, with $2.5 billion of the amount to be spent in 2012, Finance Minister Bolat Zhamishev told at the government sitting of August 27 focused on draft three-year budget. Healthcare budget for the period will make up $8.9 billion, with $2.9 billion to be spent in 2012. Among new things, the state will be subsidizing medical products for children suffering from haemophilia, oncological diseases, as well as medical products for those suffering from disseminated sclerosis. Budget spending on social security in 2012-2014 will make up $27.6 billion. According to the Minister, in 2012 minimum pension amount is to grow by 9%, with social allowances growing by 7%. Total expenses on social security in 2012 will grow by 12.5% as compared to 2011, making up $8.2 billion.
