The cost of voice calls between Kazakhstan cellular operators will be decreased by 40 percent by 2015, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan Minister of Communications and Information. Today, June 13, Askar Zhumagaliyev told Prime-Minister Karim Massimov at the meeting of the Government that he found a way to decrease the costs of cellular communications. Zhumagaliyev was referring to interconnect, the cost of calls between operators. "Considering that these services are not uncontrollable, the Ministry and operators worked out the gradual 40-percent decrease of the rates during the coming 4 years. A 20-percent decrease has already been made in 2011, and it will keep lowering the rates by 10 percent every year. Having discussed it with the Competition Control Agency, we understood that these services have to be included into controlled group. The cellular operators have to be included into the list of dominating operators; this will allow us to control the rates,” the Minister said.
