The first ton of Russian-made Euro-4 (Super Euro-98) gasoline has been sold in Kazakhstan, Kursiv reports. The content of sulfur in the gasoline has been reduced from 150 (contained in regular gasoline) to 50 milligrams per kg. The share of aromatic hydrocarbons has been cut down from 42 to 35%. Kazakhstan plans to import about 1 million tons of Euro-4 high-octane fuel from Russia, the Ministry of Oil and Gas reports. Plans are there to shift to locally-produced Euro-4 gasoline by 2015. To this end, the local refineries are undergoing modernization.
