Minister for Economic Integration to deal with Kazakhstan’s relations with Customs Union and WTO

Ms. Zhanar Aitzhanova, Minister for Economic Integration, will be in charge of issues related to the Customs Union and Kazakhstan’s planned accession into the WTO, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade wrote in a statement today. Ms. Aitzhanova had been appointed Minister of Economic Integration April 16. It was reported at the time that there is no need to establish a new ministry [of Economic Integration]: the new Minister will be working in a new working body within the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade. Earlier Ms. Zhanar Aitzhanova headed the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade. April 11 Mr. Kairat Kelimbetov was relieved of his duties in his capacity of the Chairman of the Board at Samruk Kazyna Sovereign Wealth Fund and was appointed the new Minister of Economic Development and Trade.
