An industrial park will be built in Zhanaozen town of western Kazakhstan, Tengrinews.kz reports citing deputy chairman of KazMunaiGas Magzum Mirzagaliyev as saying at the forum of oil and gas companies called Oil and Gas: Kazakhstan Content-2013. “The company has signed a range of memorandums and agreements to create the industrial park in Zhanaozen, establish production of solar modules, set up companies for production of different types of oil and gas equipment,” Magzum Mirzagaliyev said. He reminded that the national company initiated an investment forum in Aktau to attract investors last September. Several memorandums were signed between KMG and foreign companies on establishment of new production facilities in Kazakhstan. Mirzagaliyev added that the plan was to create a joint venture on production and maintenance of automated management systems for technological processes, production of control and measuring devices, as well as construction of a plant for production of premium joints for oilfield tubular goods and construction of the plant for processing of bituminous rocks in Mangistau oblast. “Implementation of the signed documents will provide investment of around $375 million into economy of western Kazakhstan and creation of 675 jobs,” Magzum Mirzagaliyev said. Besides, according to him, Aktau declaration on joint actions was signed between KMG and major oil and gas operators: TCO (TengizChevroil), NCOC (North Caspian Operating Company) and KPO (Karachaganak Petroleum Operating). The declaration is a sign of major oil and gas operators’ support to the process of joining the programs of development of Kazakhstan content into a common initiative. “The declaration includes work on things like creation of new local production facilities, unification of standards and procedures of oil and gas operators, creation of a common database of Kazakhstan industry, development of personnel potential, support to research and development works, as well as attraction of investments into development of local producers,” the deputy chairman added.
