Chairman of Samruk-Kazyna National Welfare Fund expects construction of Tobol-Kokshetau-Astana gas pipeline to start in the first quarter of 2013, Tengrinews.kz reports.
"As for construction of Tobol-Kokshetau-Astana gas pipeline, we and the government found a solution for the key funding issue. We can guarantee that construction will start in the first quarter this year," Umirzak Shukeyev said.
The instruction to extend a gas distribution network to Kazakhstan’s central region was given by President Nazarbayev in his annual Address to the people of Kazakhstan.
"It should start in April-May at latest," Serik Akhmetov told Umirzak Shukeyev. "The northern pipe will reach Astana in 2014."
