The author of the best design of EXPO-2017 facility will receive $150 thousand, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the press-service of the National Company Astana EXPO-2017. The contest in Kazakhstan is participated by around 50 architects from around the world. They include the architects of the previous and future EXPO exhibition complexes: Stefano Boeri (Milano, EXPO-2015), Nana Hernandez Getashvili (the author of Russia’s pavilion that received the silver medal for the best pavilion design in Zaragoza, EXPO-2008), architecture company GMP International SP (the author of the design of the exhibition complex in San Paulo, EXPO-2020), Zaha Hadid (Bridge Pavilion in Zaragoza, EXPO-2008). Kazakhstan participants include Kazakhstan City Planners Union, KAZGOR design academy, Timur Suleimenov from Kazakhstan Designers Union, the shop of architect Saken Narynov representing Kazakhstan Architects Union, KazOrkenProject joingly with EthnoArchitecture scientific-research institute and others. Foreign architects and companies that already have successful projects in Astana also offered their designs: Manfredi Nikoletti (Kazakhstan cinema and concert hall), Studio 44 from Saint-Petersburg (School-students Palace) and Sembol company (Khan Shatyr mall).
