New kindergarten No.171 opened in Kokzhiyek region in Almaty, Tengrinews.kz reports. The kindergarten is ready to welcome kids from August 15. It is made for 120 children. According to Almaty Akim (Mayor) Akhmetzhan Yessimov, another 10 facilities for children will be built by the end of 2011 under Kazakhstan President’s program called “Balapan”. “Today we have opened a kindergarten which costs 260 million tenge ($1.8 million). Besides, 19 kindergartens were built in the last three years,” Akim told journalists. “We are currently returning all kindergartens that have been rented out before. We have already returned 6 of them. This practice will be continued. Despite of the fact that private kindergartens are opening in Almaty (57 kindergartens for 3,000 children have been opened in the last 3 years), we still have a deficiency of them,” Yessimov said.
