Dr. Alena Bapayeva from one of the Almaty clinics noted an increasing demand for blepharoplasty, eyelid surgery and SMAS face lifting among men. Surprisingly, mastopexy or the plastic surgery raising sagging breasts had become popular among men, too. Apparently, sagging breasts is not only women’s problem but men, too, face it.
“In average, we have three surgeries per day and we work six days a week,” Dr. Bapayeva said. The surgeon added that two or three years ago there were less male patients at the clinic.
“Men with Asian faces have blepharoplasty to change the eye shape. Mostly, high-ranking officials over 40 have this procedure. They have to appear in public a lot and need look in accordance with their stature,” the plastic surgeon said.
Plastic surgery in Kazakhstan started developing pretty recently. It is mostly popular in South Korea, Greece, Italy, Brazil and Columbia.
