Kazakhstan experts have calculated that the EXPO-2017 exhibition in Astana may bring from $520 to $910 million of profits, Tengrinews.kz reports citing an analysis made by Exclusive.kz The EXPO-2017 may be visited by 4 to 7 million people. According to the analysis of specialized exhibitions of rencent years, one visitor brings a profit of around $130. Tickets to the latest exhibitions costs around $30. According to the experts, the last exhibition in Shanghai in 2010 brought $12 billion. The event was visited by 73 million people. However, the global exhibition of Hanover did not meet the expectations of the organizers: instead of the expected 40 million visitors the exhibition was attended by only 18 million people. As a result, the exhibition generated losses of around 1.2 billion Euro. The EXPO-2017 budget has not been been drawn yet, but the numbers are expected to be publicized in the end of 2013. Right now it is known that 250 million Euro will be allocated from the state budget for construction of infrastructure, communications and preparation of the exhibition site. Around 1 billion Euro is expected to be invested into construction of the exhibition pavilions and hotels. A special national company Astana EXPO-2017 was established to manage preparation and holding of the global exhibition in Astana. Talgat Yermegiyayev was appointed its head. Earlier he worked as head of the Sport and Physical Culture Agency.
