National Bank issued new coins ahead of 20th anniversary of Independence

The National Bank of Kazakhstan put into circulation commemorative coins dedicated to the 20th anniversary of independence of Kazakhstan, Tengrinews.kz reports, referring to the press-office of the bank. The coin of fifty thousand tenge nominal value is made of gold. The coins made of silver are of five thousand and five hundred tenge nominal value, and a silver nickel coin is worth fifty tenge. The emblem of Kazakhstan and coin's value are depicted at the front face (obverse) of the workpiece. The standard of the metal is indicated on silver and gold coins. A map of Kazakhstan along with an image of winged panther are depicted on the obverse of the coin. A collage of Almaty and Astana famous buildings, representing succession of epochs and formations is depicted in the center of the verso. The 20th anniversary of independence emblem is depicted in the center of the verso of the silver nickel coin. The gold coins were issued in 100 copies, the silver five thousand coin in 200 copies and silver five hundred coin in 5000 copies. The mintage of the silver nickel coin is 50 thousand copies. Besides their collector value, the commemorative coins are accepted in accordance with their nominal value at the territory of Kazakhstan. The coins were released in souvenir wrapping. They are sold along with numbered National Bank of Kazakhstan certificates written in Kazakh, English and Russian at the offices of the bank.
