Georgian President expressed condolences over plane crash near Shymkent

President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili expressed condolences over the plane crash near Shymkent in Kazakhstan, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan Foreign Ministry. Saakashvili posted the words of compassion and support to the families of the victims on his page in Facebook. “I am deeply grieved by the plane crash in Kazakhstan that claimed lives of 27 people. I sincerely sympathize and condole to members of the victims’ families. I would like to tell each of them that I share their endless paid with all my heart,” Saakashvili posted. Georgian Foreign Ministry also sent its condolences: “Georgia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses grief over the death of the officers of the Border Control Service of Kazakhstan National Security Commission and the crew members in the plane crash near Shymkent and offers condolences to the families of the victims,” the message states. Earlier the condolences over the tragedy in South-Kazakhstan oblast were expressed by presidents of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia and Kyrgyzstan. The AN-72 military plane of the Border Control Service of Kazakhstan National Security Commission crashed at 06:55 p.m. on December 25, 20km from Shymkent airport. The plane had 7 crew members and 20 militarymen onboard, including the acting head of the Border Control Service of Kazakhstan National Security Commission Turganbek Stambekov and his wife.
