Woman torn to pieces in car accident in Almaty

A Toyota Camry has knocked down and killed a woman in Almaty, Tengrinews reports citing STV Channel. The accident happened in the morning of February 26 at the crossing of Tlendieyv and Tole bi streets. The woman, 68, was crossing Tole bi street in the north direction, the Toyota Camry was driving west along the same street. The collision was so strong that the woman's body was torn to several parts and her bag flew off and broke a window of a bus that was driving by. There were only 3-4 passengers in bus at that moment and nobody in the bus was injured. "The driver is being questioned now. He claims he drove through a green light. According to him, the woman was the one who violated the traffic rules. The police is investigating the circumstances of the accident. Test have been scheduled to determine the speed of the car," the police of Almaty said. A criminal case over Violation of traffic rules causing death of a person has been initiated against the driver. The driver can get up to 5 years in prison.
