Azamat Tazhayakov allegedly told FBI agents about Dzhokhar Tsarnayev’s dangerous inclinations, Tengrinews reports citing The Boston Globe.

According to Tazhayakov’s testimony presented by FBI during the obstructing justice hearing in connection with the Boston bombings case, Tsarnaev told the Kazakhstani student that he knew how to make homemade bombs. He also talked about owning BB guns, and visiting a shooting range with Tamerlan, his elder brother who was killed during the shootout.

In his text message dated April 19, 2013, Tazhayakov wrote that he was surprised to see Tsarnayev’s name in connection with the Boston bombings. “I think that it’s all his brother’s fault. (…) He brainwashed him,” the Kazakh student wrote. Tazhayakov believed that Dzhokhar was influenced by his older brother Tamerlan and became interested in radical Islam.

Meanwhile, the prosecution maintains Tazhayakov guilty of obstruction of justice. Sara Wood of FBI, claimed that the Kazakh student along with Dias Kadyrbayev got rid of Tsarnayev’s backpack. In turn, Tazhayakov’s lawyer stated it was Kadyrbayev who took the backpack and not his client.

A hearing of Azamat Tazhayakov’s roommate Dias Kadrybayev is scheduled to September 8. American Robel Phillipos, the third accused, will face the court later on September 29.
