OCTG - oil country tubular goods - are pipe and tube products used in petroleum industry, such as drill pipe, pipe casings, oil pipes. Kazakhstan national oil and gas company KazMunaiGas and French Vallourec & Mannesmann Tubes signed a memorandum of understanding last week. Vallourec & Mannesmann Tubes is the world’s leading producer of seamless steel pipes and high-quality OCTG fittings. And it plans to open the production facility in Kazakhstan. The project is going to be implemented under the program of interaction of the governments of the two countries in technologies transfer and attraction of industrial investments in Kazakhstan. “Considering Kazakhstan’s industrial development policies and demand of the Kazakhstan market for tubular goods, KazMunaiGas National Company and Vallourec & Mannesmann Tubes signed the memorandum to confirm the intention to study the option of building a pipe-threading plant in Kazakhstan that will specialize in production of high-quality fittings,” the press-service writes. The document was signed by the deputy chairman of KazMunaiGas Kurmangazy Iskaziyev and the board member of Vallourec & Mannesmann Tubes Pierre Frenzel.
