KazakhTeleCom's profits made 175 billion tenge in 2012

The profits of Kazakhstan's biggest telecommunications operator KazakhTeleCom made 175 billion tenge ($1.2 billion) in 2012, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the company's public relations service. The company's last year's financial soundness indicators are within the standard range and have a positive dynamics compared to 2011. "According to the preliminary information, the consolidated profits from services in 2012 made 175 billion tenge ($1.2 billion) and the consolidated net profit (minus sale of the stake in Kcell) made 20 billion tenge ($133 million). The consolidated EBITDA (Earnings before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization) equaled to 69.2 billion tenge ($461.2 million) at EBITDA margin of 39 percent.The capital expenditures made 63.3 billion tenge ($421.8 million)," the message states. The safety margin on Debt/Own capital and Debt/EBITDA indicators, ultimate and free borrowing capacities were increased in 2012, which certifies to strengthening of the company's financial soundness in the reporting period, the company stresses. "As of January 1, 2013 the number of fixed lines made 4 million lines, including 2.9 million lines in the city telephone network and 1.1 million lines in the rural telephone network. The telephone density per 100 citizens as of January 1, 2013 made 24.27 numbers, 31.79 numbers in the city telephone network and 15.21 numbers in the rural telephone network. The total capacity of broadcast Internet access network made 1.2 million ports as of January 1, 2013," the press-service writes. Three data centers were launched last year: TIER III-type (the area of 1,000 square meters) in Pavlodar, in Astana (the area of 300 square meters) and in Almaty (the area of 450 square meters). As of December 31, 2012 the number of equipment unites placed in KazakhTeleCom data centers made 1,755 Unit. Over 8 thousand legal entities and individuals are currently the clients of these data centers.
