KEGOC joins UN Global Contract

KEGOC has joined the UN Global Contract, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the company’s press-service. According to KEGOC chairman Bakytzhan Kazhiyev, this step certifies the company’s serious intention to hold leading positions in corporate management in Kazakhstan. KEGOC always strives to comply with the best world’s practices, he says. The UN Global Contract is the world’s biggest voluntary initiative to encourage businesses worldwide to adopt sustainable and socially responsible policies, and to report on their implementation. The Global Contract is a principle-based framework for businesses that sets forth ten principles in human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption. According to the press-service, KEGOC became the 24th Kazakhstan company to join the Contract. Kazakhstan Electricity Grid Operating Company KEGOC is the system operator of Kazakhstan’s Common Energy System (CES). It was established by a Kazakhstan government’s decree on September 28, 1996.
