PSA Peugeot Citroën may consider launching a manufacturing facility in Kazakhstan, "Kursiv" reported, citing Oleg Alferov, Head of Qncepto Consultancy. According to him, the Kazakhstan’s market has entered the so-called country to watch category. According to him, “PSA Peugeot Citroën is considering products that are not currently produced in Russia (…) and that access to the Russian market within the Customs Union is of interest”. The expert said the Company is considering bringing spare parts from China. Kazakhstan-manufactured cars may be further sold to Russia as the French car’s popularity in Kazakhstan is rather limited. Kazakhstan already accommodates two car-making facilities – Agromashholding and Asia Auto. According to Qncepto, in 2011 every fifth buyer of a new car in Kazakhstan opted for a Kazakhstan-made car.
