Kazakhstan's historical film Zhauzhurek Myn Bala (1000 Brave Boys) directed by Akan Satayev will be released on VoD (Video on Demand) in North America, Tengrinews reports citing the official website of the Kazakhfilm studios. Television VoD systems either stream content through a set-top box, a computer or other device, allowing viewing in real time, or download it to a device such as a computer, digital video recorder or portable media player for viewing at any time. The majority of cable- and telco-based television providers offer both VoD streaming, including pay-per-view and free content, whereby a user buys or selects a movie or television program and it begins to play on the television set almost instantaneously, or downloading to a DVR rented from the provider, or downloaded onto a PC, for viewing in the future. Internet television is an increasingly popular form of video on demand. "It is the biggest release of Kazakhfilm on the territory of North America through VoD, the innovative system employed by Amazon, Google Play/YouTube, iTunes, PlayStation, Rovi, VUDU and Charter," director on cinema development Iliyas Akhmet said. Zhauzhurek Myn Bala film was released in Kazakhstan in May, 2012. Canadian 108 Media company purchased rights to Zhauzhurek Myn Bala film after it was screened at the Film Market of the 65th Cannes Festival. The United States, France, Germany, Great Britain, Japan, Korea and Australia are also yjr approved regions of the film distribution. The action of the drama takes place in the early 18th century, during the war against the Dzhungar tribe. The unity of Kazakh people and their heroism becomes the main factor that ends the long war. Young warriors led by courageous Sartai stand up together with seasoned warriors to protect their Motherland. Sartai's legendary army, known as Myn Bala (1000 boys), joins the battle against the enemy and changes the course of the war.
