Swiss actor Vincent Perez wishes to return to Kazakhstan as a photographer

Swiss actor Vincent Perez, who took part in the annual International Eurasia Film Festival in Astana for the first time, said that he’d like to organize a photo session in Kazakhstan, if Kazakhstan authorities give him this opportunity, Tengrinews.kz reports. Describing Kazakhstan and its citizens at a press-conference the actor said that Kazakhstan citizens had a bright and handsome appearance. Earlier famous German director Wolfgang Petersen also said that he was amazed at the beauty of Kazakhstan people. “I would like to come to Kazakhstan once more as a photographer and an actor, if I have the chance,” Vincent Perez said. Perez also added that he would like to find common points and to initiate joint projects with Kazakhstan's KazakhFilm Studios. The President of the Studios nodded to him approvingly when he said this. They agreed to discuss the issue in details in the nearest future. Vincent Pérez, a French-speaking actor, was born in 1964 in Lausanne, Switzerland. He dreamed of being an artist, and when he was 18 he departed for France and was enroll in a university to do a Drama course. He worked as a photographer. When he was a student, Perez made his debut in Guardian of the Night film. He became famous all over the world as a star of Beyond the Clouds film in 1995. Mikelandjelo Antonioni directed that movie along with Wim Wenders. Perez appeared again in The Crow: City of Angels mystery thriller. The International Eurasia Film Festival was held in Almaty on September 17-21. Winners of the Festival were announced at the awarding ceremony. The jury decided not to award a grand prix for the best film this year. Two films – Turkish director Özcan Alper’s Future Lasts Forever and Polish director Malgorzata Szumowska’s Elles – shared the Best Director prize. The Best Actress award went to Anais Demoustier of France, one of the leads in Elles. Russian director Alexey Mizgerev’s Convoy received the international critics’ FIPRESCI Award. And the Best Actor prize went to Kazakh-born actor Azamat Nigmanov who stared in the Convoy. Meanwhile, the NETPAC Jury presented their prize to Kazakh director Darezhan Omirbayev for his Student movie. Earlier Tengrinews.kz English reported that Amir Karakulov’s Virtual Love movie was be screened during the opening ceremony of the Film Festival.
