Kazakhstan's opera diva Maria Mudryak performs in Astana

Italian opera singer Maria Mudryak from Kazakhstan has visited Astana, Tengrinews reports citing the city’s Department of Culture.


Italian opera singer Maria Mudryak from Kazakhstan has visited Astana, Tengrinews reports citing the city’s Department of Culture.

“To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WWII), Astana’s Department of Culture prepared events dedicated to the war veterans. A solo concert of Maria Mudryak on May 10 in the Palace of Peace and Accord was one of the events,” the city’s Department informed.  

Astana residents and the city guests also enjoyed the performance of Astana symphony orchestra and the chamber choir of the State Philharmonic of Astana city. 

Maria Mudryak is very famous in Europe. The 20-year-old diva was born in Pavlodar in northern Kazakhstan, but has been living in Milan, Italy since the age of 10.

Maria’s signing career started at the age of 5 when she recorded her solo album and was named the youngest singer in the world by the Guinness Book. At the age of 10, she was accepted into the La Scala academy as an exception.

At the age of 14, while studying at the academy, she was allowed to get enrolled in the prestigious Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan.

The young singer was named the best opera singer of Italy in 2011 at the National Competition in Italy.

She won a Bolashak education scholarship in Kazakhstan and a year later, she graduated from the Milan Conservatory as the youngest student to complete the whole course. This year, she got her master’s degree in music from the Milan Music Academy.

Maria's professional debut was when she was 19. She played maid Suzanna in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro at the Carlo Felice Theater in Genoa.

Her second role was that of singer Musetta in Giacomo Puccini’s La Bohemeat the Rosetum Theater in Milan.

Later, she played step-sister Clorinda in Gioachino Rossini’s Cinderella at The Salzburg Festival.

She also starred as Juliette in Jacques Offenbach’s The Tales of Hoffmannthat was staged in five opera houses of Italy.

In early October of last year, she performed the leading role in famous Gaetano Donizetti’s opera The Elixir of Love at the Piacenza Theater in Piacenza, Italy.
