Kazakhstan’s singer Luina (Luiza Karinbayeva) has applied to represent Russia at the Eurovision-2013 song contest, Tengrinews.kz reports, referring to Zhomart Suleymenov, the singer’s producer. “Kazakhstan is not participating in the Eurovision song contest so we had to try a way around. We have already submitted Luina’s new song Gimme Gimme that meets all the contest’s requirements for the participation in the show. The company that selects the participants have already admitted our application. (…) There have been plenty of cases at the Eurovision сontest when legionnaires represented certain countries no being their citizens. It doesn’t violate the contest’s rules,” Suleymenov said. Kazakhstan’s singer Dariya Gabdull applied for Eurovision-2012 on the part of Sweden last year. However, she failed to pass the casting. Russia’s TV Channel One will define the Eurovision-2013 participant to represent Russia. Channel One has announced that it will use its right to select the singer and the song for participation in the contest by itself. The name of the singer, who will represent Russia, and his/her song will become known in the nearest future,” the channel's website reports. The 58th Eurovision song contest will be held in the Swedish city of Malino in May 2013. Sweden won the 2012 contest that was held in Baku. By Aizhan Tugelbayeva
