John Carter broke the record of Kazakhstan box office earnings

John Carter blockbuster gathered more than 40 million tenge (about $268 000) in the first day of its Kazakhstan release. The movie has broken the record of earnings in all the history of Kazakhstan film service, Tengrinews.kz reports, referring to Meloman shops’ press-release. The movie managed to break the record of Pirates of the Caribbean: on Stranger Tides that earned 30 million tenge ($202 700) in its first day of release in May 2011. John Carter has also set a new record in Russian film service by earning 175 million roubles ($5.9 million) in its first day. Earlier Tengrinews.kz reported that the Swear, a romantic melodrama was the leader of the last week-end. The movie earned 17.2 million tenge ($11 620) during four days.
