Ekaterina Sisfontes’ (Sweden) photo exhibition called Stockholm Subway will kick off in Almaty subway on May 26, 2012, as part of ArtbatFest Contemporary Art Festival, Tengrinews.kz reports. The photographer will present a series of photos of subway stations designed in different modern art styles: from pop-art to graffiti. The artistic vision and creative approach have made Stockholm subway famous all over the world. The exhibition will open at Zhibek Zholy station (Gogol Str, corner of Panfilov Str.) Visitors are welcome free of charge. An interactive work-shop with participation of famous Russian artist and designer Andrey Lyublinskiy opened the Artbat Fest on May 25 at 11:00. Large-scale installation will be made in Almaty Arbat ((pedestrian part of Zhibek Zholy Street between Furmanov Street and Abylay Khan prospect.) Those wishing to take part in the creative process are welcome to do so. Some of the fans and participants of the festival are going to be arriving to Almaty from Moscow, Tbilisi, Saint-Petersburg and Stockholm. The city is expected to turn into a street art site. Workers have already set up stages at selected sites.
