Kazakhstan violinist played with famous orchestra at festival in Japan

Violinist Ordabek Duissen became the first Kazakhstan musician performing at the famous classical music festival Pacific Music Festival in Japan, Tengrinews.kz reports. Ordabek Duissen took part in the festival as the orchestra concertmaster and performed solo as well. The famous student of professors Svetlana Abdusadykova, Raissa Mussakhodzhayeva and Aiman Mussakhodzhayeva played Brahms, Mahler, Mozart and Tchaikovsky. Art masters chose the participants for the festival. Only 100 performers from different countries were selected out of 1,500 candidates. “I had an opportunity to share the stage with famous musicians from the leading orchestras of the world, such as Berlin, Vienna philharmonic orchestras, Dresden Staatskapelle Orchestra, Chicago and Cleveland orchestras,” Ordabek said. The orchestra which Kazakhstan violinist played with is headed by the main director of Zurich Opera and Vienna Symphonic Orchestra Fabio Luisi. The 30-years-old musician is famous in his motherland as participant of the Duissen Duo duet, where he plays with his sister, a pianist Dina Duissen. The brother and suster graduated from Kazakh National Music Academy in Almaty and continued their studies abroad. Ordabek entered Dallas University and Dina won a scholarship for post-graduate studies in Fort Worth, USA. They are prizewinners of many contests and give concerts in CIS countries, Europe, Asia and the U.S. both solo and as a duet.
